Spinning Plates
Three-piece alternative rock band Spinning Plates has been publishing music since 2020. From releasing their first single during a lockdown, to supporting ARIA charts-listed acts, the Ngunnawal/Ngambri (Canberra) band has made a name for themselves in the local music scene.
The band contacted me when they wanted help designing a logo that could be applied in many contexts - posters, stage backdrops, and tickets, to name a few. The wordmark I created suggests movement, with its noisy letterforms as loud and bold as Spinning Plates's discography. I carried the theme of momentum and fluidity into the album artwork for James Dean and Spoils of War, and across the designs for the band’s social media campaigns and merchandise.
I also provided videography and post-production support for three music videos. The Peace of Mind, James Dean, and Can't We Talk? videos were released in conjunction with the singles on Apple Music and Spotify.
